Peggy is from a ranching family in California and grew up riding and bucking out cow horses. Notably, she was once a Rodeo Sweetheart! Married a Canadian that lived in New Jersey. He took her to Essex 3 Day Event and that was that, she was in love with Eventing. 

The Hambly family moved to Ontario in 1981 and thru friends became even more engaged in the sport. Her son Jay began eventing and Peggy became very involved in Equestrian Canada serving on the Eventing Committee and eventually the Board of Directors. While doing all this she worked her way up the ranks as an official (Technical delegate) and is still a level 2 FEI TD.
