About Louise Gillam

Born in Fort Worth, Texas Louise grew up in the United Kingdom immersed in both the equestrian and hospitality worlds. Raised at her parents’ hotel, she developed an early appreciation for event operations and guest experience while pursuing her own passion for horses and competitive riding.

She began her professional equine career in the sport horse industry before working the European thoroughbred sales circuit. Louise later attended The National Stud in Newmarket, graduating with honors in Thoroughbred Stud Practice and Management.

Following two seasons as Hospital Manager at Vinery Stud in Australia, she worked in Sydney with Hall of Fame trainer Gai Waterhouse. She also spent a foaling season at Airdrie Stud in Kentucky and later returned to the states in 2019 to join Margaux Farm as the Young Horse Development Manager.

In 2022, Louise joined the Kentucky Horse Park as Director of Events, coordinating the park’s facilities and extensive schedule, including the internationally recognized Kentucky Three-Day Event. She then joined the Equestrian Events, Inc. team in February of 2026 to take up the role of Competition Manager.

Louise and her husband live on a local farm, along with their menagerie of pets. Together they operate a private boarding and training facility. Louise is especially passionate about the retraining of thoroughbreds for second careers after their retirement from the track.
