The Kentucky Three-Day Event
The Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event is one of the most prestigious and iconic equestrian competitions in the world. Held each April in Lexington, Kentucky, it's one of only seven CCI5* eventing competitions globally; the highest level of the sport. The event draws top horse-and-rider pairs from across the globe to compete in three phases over four days: dressage, cross-country, and show jumping. Each phase tests different aspects of the horse and rider’s athleticism, training, and partnership, making it a true showcase of versatility and skill.
Beyond the elite sport, the event offers a vibrant festival atmosphere that attracts tens of thousands of spectators each year. Attendees enjoy tailgating on cross-country day, extensive shopping in the Trade Fair, delicious food vendors, family-friendly activities, and unique sponsor activations. With its combination of world-class competition and lively fan experience, the Kentucky Three-Day Event has become a beloved tradition for equestrian enthusiasts and casual fans alike.
